The Rapture apparently aren’t content with being infamous (as opposed to say, the Jawhawks).  Way back in 2001 their EP Out of the Races and Onto the Tracks was one of the first in this curious genre of indie music that encouraged listeners to dance.  This eventually caught on, and every drummer scrambled to learn disco beats that were ridiculous only years ago.  But the Rapture saw other bands lead a genre they helped to create, after becoming famous in Europe and watching their album 2003 album Echoes be mishandled by the man at the record label.

They’ve kept busy, however, releasing Pieces of the People We Love in 2006 and most recently appearing on the Grand Theft Auto IV sountrack.  Maybe you’ve killed a prostitute or two to their song, the-rapture-no-sex-for-ben.  It kills, I swear.
