There’s been a lot of talk among non-shred related publications on how bad Eddie Van Halen (who, I’ll admit, was starting to resemble Eddie) is looking these days, in particular how shameful it was that he got photoshopped on this Guitar World Cover. Yes, that is clearly Van Halen’s body pasted on Matthew McConaghey’s body.
The guitar dudes like to think of our bowl of brown M&Ms as half full: at least he isn’t looking as bad as Yngwie Malmsteen.
And because we feel bad for trashing on Yngwie–and definitely do NOT want him unleashing any fury on us–we’re going to post the furious one covering Dream On by Aerosmith with good old Ronnie James Dio on vox.

Really to set the record straight, it needs to be said that all this press is a bit confusing. The above Guitar World cover is from way back in 2007 before EVH’s stint in rehab. Check out Eddie lookin’ all Magnum PI in the April 2008 cover.
